Book Signing Event

Put October 20th on your calendar and plan to come hang out and get a signed copy of Betsy Randolph's new book. Some of you have heard Betsy speak at Girls Day Out, most of you have seen her on TV. She has just published her first book, Tokens of the Liars, and OPD is hosting a book signing for her...as with all OPD events, there will be chocolate! See the Classes tab for details.

September Classes

I still have room in Defensive Awareness (9-20) and Women Only Conceal Carry (9-22). Registration deadlines are approaching so don't delay signing up if you want to attend. See the Classes tab for details.

Speaking Engagements and Private Classes

I do speaking engagements around the state on a fairly regular basis. I did some over summer break, and I have three scheduled for the month of October that have been on my calendar for several months.

I also am able to take several classes to your location, such as Defensive Awareness. For example, I am teaching a private Defensive Awareness class for an OKC business in September in their conference room...we anticipate 50-60 attendees for the class. Defensive Awareness in particular is easy for me to bring to your office or church, any location that has a private meeting space. This is a class every woman should take, so I am especially happy to be able to bring it to as many women as possible – no woman ever has to be attacked, that's what Defensive Awareness is all about!

Contact me if you'd like me to speak for your event, or bring a private class to your location.

Abbreviations

There are particular abbreviations common to firearms and self-defense that we use in classes and throughout the newsletter articles that you may not be familiar with...check out the Helps tab to find out what those abbreviations mean.

What an OPD helper does in her "spare" time...

Many of you have met Louise Jennings in classes when she's been a helper for the class...did you know she's a Red Cross volunteer? When there's a disaster in Oklahoma (like the wildfires) Louise is onsite helping first responders and victims. She was recently deployed with the Red Cross from Oklahoma to Alabama to help those affected by the hurricane. Click the below to see her being interviewed prior to heading out.
