Upcoming Classes

Life Safety Seminar

I am very excited to be collaborating with my friend, security expert Todd Jackson, in bringing the first Life Safety Seminar. Todd and I will be teaching about how to protect yourself, prevent a home invasion, and deal with traumatic injury. The seminar is on Saturday, December 13th from 1-5 in Tecumseh. Cost is only $10 as I’m offering this as a community service.

Tactical Expandable Baton

I’m also very excited to be hosting a collapsible baton class written and taught by OCPD Sgt. Chris Lambert. This is a tremendous opportunity for professional training in the use of your collapsible baton.
The class will be on Saturday, January 10th from 10-4 in Oklahoma City, cost is $50. Class size is limited to 12 students so don’t wait too long to register.

See the Classes Tab for more details and to register for each event.

OCPD Citizen Police Academy Graduation

It seems like I just started the OCPD Citizen Police Academy, but this Tuesday (11-4) marks the 12th week and it is our class graduation ceremony. From what I’ve heard it’s quite an event with the Color Guard and officers in their dress blues and some neat reminiscence (videos, pics and speeches) from our 12 weeks. There’s a reception afterwards, and I would LOVE to see my OPD friends there. Please come out if you can. The ceremony starts at 6:00 and it’s in the Zoo Friends Building at the OKC Zoo (directions).

Be sure to check out my articles on the topic, this month I am on session three about the Citizen Police Academy (nine more to go) along with my article about my third ride-along with Sgt. Chris Lambert. See the Articles Tab to read them.

Tammy

As usual, we had a really fun BTB class in October. Learning to draw from a holster and contemplating using a firearm for self-defense is a very serious thing...so we take the edge off with very creative scenario drills. See more pics here.

Cherise

The new Tough Kids Tactics class in Tecumseh was a big success! From left to right: Miss Cherise teaching a section of the class (Miss Tammy is taking the pictures), watching the Eddie Eagle gun safety DVD, doing the Eddie Eagle safety dance.
