Upcoming Classes

Life Safety Seminar

In this seminar I'll be teaching something I’ve never taught outside my Range Safety Officer class how to save your life in the event of a gunshot wound.
Everyone around guns needs to know this because even though you practice safe gun handling, the unsafe gun handler usually
shoots someone else, and it’s very commonly in the leg...if it hits your femoral artery, you’ll bleed out before paramedics can arrive...that’s a bummer when it’s a wound you could otherwise survive! I’ll teach you what to do to save your life until you get to the hospital, and I’ll show you the components of the kit you should always carry in your range bag and vehicle trunk. The seminar is on December 13th from 1-5 in Tecumseh.

Tactical Expandable Baton

There are only a few spots left in the January 10th collapsible baton class written and taught by OCPD Sgt. Chris Lambert.

Girls Day Out and Defensive Awareness

Also on the schedule for January is Defensive Awareness (13th) and Girls Day Out (24th). These classes usually fill up quickly so don't wait too long to sign up.

See the Classes Tab for more details and to register for each event.

OPD Christmas Buyer's Guide

Last year OPD Instructor Cherise put together a fantastic OPD Christmas gift guide, and we've got another fabulous one this year. Nothing is repeated so be sure to check out the 2013 OPD Gift Guide where you'll find things like the Tactical Chef Apron, pictured on the right...note below the monkey are magazine pouches, that's because it's MOLLE equipped so you can hang virtually anything from it (hint, the mag pouches have spice shakers in them). Click here to see more pictures of big little boys enjoying their Tactical Chef Apron.

Check out our 2014 Christmas gift guide on the Articles page for even more ideas for self-defense and tactically minded guys & gals.

And for a special treat, be sure to look for Frau Laudenboehmer's Guide to Gun Stuff Online also on the Articles page.

Veteran's Day SDA class

I did a two part daytime SDA (conceal carry) class with the classroom portion on Monday, November 10th and the range portion the next day, which happened to be Veteran's Day. All the ladies had attended Girls Day Out the week before, so everyone was prepared and all did very well. The day was especially meaningful to a couple of ladies whose stories you can read on the Fun Tab. You'll also find pics from the class there. This group was fired up and scheduled BTB soon after SDA (see below). Great job, ladies, I'm proud of you!

From the December 1st Between the Threat and the Bang class with a private group I call "Denita's Defenders" – this group is so serious about training, they have scheduled a class almost every week since early November. Would you like to know what's going on in the above pics? Click here.

Support your 2A rights when you shop on Amazon

Don't forget about AmazonSmile, Amazon's philanthropy program that donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. The NRA is on the charities list, so you can set up your account to automatically make a donation to support your 2A rights with your purchases. Most of the OPD Christmas gifts linked to Amazon qualify. Here's information about the program with a direct link to sign up.
